Provocative tone is seen in a person who is very angry and wants to get others angry is well. Rather than just screaming insults, he states facts that would seem to make anyone angry. Provocative pieces are often written to cause change or incite violence. A good provocative tone can be very persuasive.
You'll see plenty of provocative tone on the Jerry Springer show. On it, a guest will say very bad things about another person, true and untrue, before that person comes on the show, saying he did this and he did that. By the time that person comes out, the whole audience is mad at him or her and booing his or her entrance. The first guest caused the audience to become angry. |  |
