If someone is reverent to you, you have done something really great and should feel very honored. Reverent is often seen in people toward their god or gods. A reverent person will speak very well of what he is reverent toward. He will put the subject up on a pedistal, respecting it and giving it high esteem. An example of reverence could be heard just last night in Al Gore's concession speech. Even though Al Gore "strongly disagreed with the Supreme Court's decision," he respected and honored it, droping off the presidential election. This showed that you don't always have to like something to show reverence toward it. | |
