This emotion is out of control. An individual just lets all restaint go out the window, and emotion bursts out uncontrollably. You can tell you've spotted this tone if a the presenter is very happy or sad, but to an over the top extreme. Adjectives fly and comments remain in high intensity for longer than usual. The tone can also be very erracit, jumping from extremely sad to happy in an instant. A mentally unstable person can often have this tone.
The Chicago Bulls were gushy during their celebration of the 3-peat. They raved on with happiness, with quotes like "I love you man," etc. There was a lot of hugging and smiling, wine is everywhere. If an ignorant had person walked in who didn't know what happened, he or she would wonder what the heck was going on. People say and do things they normally wouldn't do in this tone. |  |
